The Northwest Annex Youth Center offers a variety of free activities for youth ages 9-18 years. The open recreation youth activity is for pre-teens ages nine to 12 years. The teen activity is for teenagers 13 to 17 years (18 if still in high school). A wide range of fun and exciting events are scheduled weekly for participants and there is no cost to attend. These two activities are scheduled to be open in the late afternoons during the week, late Friday nights and occasionally Saturdays (for special events or field trips).
School-Age Care (SAC) programs provide quality “out of school” activities for children who have started kindergarten to 12 years of age. The programs are designed to enhance rather than duplicate the school day, are affiliated with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and offer 4-H programs. Scheduled developmentally appropriate activities in core program areas and technology are planned based on knowledge of youth development, needs and interests of the children enrolled. Navy SAC programs are DoD certified and nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA).
